Pronouns are the words used for an individual in place of their name. 

-They are associated with a person’s gender identity (e.g., she/her/hers or he/him/his)

-Gender inclusive options also exist (e.g., they/them/theirs or no pronouns – use only a person’s name).

You cannot assume someone’s pronouns based on how they look. It’s always best to ask a person what name and pronouns they use.
